My Story
My name is Bonnie Joseph, and I am 32 years old. I am a wife to my best friend Tim, and the mother of 3 beautiful girls.
For the first 21 years of my life, I was thin. Too thin, at times. My weight started increasing after the birth of my first daughter in 1997. Between 1997 and 2008, I had two more daughters - Zoe, born March 2006, and Callie, born March 2008- and my weight reached an all time high. In those 11 years, I tried many eating plans with little success, along with many short-lived attempts at fitness programs, and even diet pills, all in a desperate attempt to get back to my thinner self.
At the start of this blog in January of 2009, I am at my all time high, 295 lbs. I attribute my obesity to many separate factors: an addiction to food (especially sweets and salty foods), my current state of little-to-no physical activity, and to low self-esteem and general laziness.
I am determined and committed to changing my life over the course of the next year. My New Years resolution, and my life-long resolution, is to get myself in better shape so that I can enjoy a long, happy, and healthy life with my husband and children.
Please visit my blog often over the course of the next year to help me and encourage me to continue working towards my goal, and hopefully I can be of help and encouragement to those of you who are also struggling with obesity.
While this blog will mainly focus on my journey to lose weight and become more healthy, it will also include other details about my life and my other passions. One of my hobbies is frugality and saving money, and I'm interested to see how I will be able to fit healthier foods into our current food budget of $300 per month.
